DNHat - Domain Portfolio Manager and Marketing Software
Documentation: Admin CP - Features

Search Log
If you are using the Markeplace features of DNHat, then all searches for domain names conducted by visitors on the marketplace are logged into a special database. Search result counts are also included in the data. This gives you insight to what your potential clients are looking for and can help you to adjust your strategy. You can sort the results by domain names, search keywords, date-time, relevance and result count.
Notes: Frequently clean your search log data, otherwise with time it can pile up and become heavy for the system to process.
External MarketPlace List Manager
Again, if you are using DNHat just for managing your domain portfolio, then you can disregard this chapter and move on to the next.

In case you were not aware, with DNHat you can setup your own marketplace and at the same time paralelly list same domains for sale on other popular marketplaces such as Sedo, Flippa etc.
That is, send/forward/re-direct buyers from your marketplace to another marketplace for buyers to complete the purchase.

DNHat comes with the list of 12 most popular domain MarketPlaces such as Sedo, Flippa, GoDaddy etc. and all you need do is select the applicable ones, where you have listed or will list your domains for sale. You can always add more external marketplaces to the list or edit the existing ones.

There are many reasons why you (or users of your platform) might want to re-direct buyers to a third-party platform to complete the sales : level of trust enjoyed by established markeplace(s), low sales commission, payment security, lack of technical know-how in transferring domains to buyers, you don't want to go through the rigors of domain escrow services, international payment processors don't operate in your country etc.

 Notes:
Even if you are not sending your buyers to external markeplace to finalise sales, once you've listed a domain on other marketplaces, be sure to edit the domain record in your portfolio to reflect this. This will serve as reminder for you to remove/delete the listing from the platforms once the domain is sold.
Category Manager
Whether you are using DNHat to manage your domain portfolio, or/and to sell your domains with the scripts' markeplace features, creating categories under which you can later list your domains simplifies the process. For portfolio management, this helps you get organized, while on your markeplace many potential buyers hardly have enough time or patience to go through the long list of your domains. They most likely search for domains using categories combined with other criteria
  • Unlike analog software in the market, DNHat scripts enables you to list a single domain name under multiple categories. Potential clients can also search for a domain under multiple categories and domain extensions.
  • DNHat comes with list of most popular domain categories already compiled into the database
  • Using the category manager, you can add, edit or delete categories
  • Notes:
When you delete a category, all domains and offers under the category are also automatically deleted. So, if you must delete a category make sure no domains are listed under the category.
    Domain Manager
Domain Manager is the core feature of DNHat. Domain Manager helps you avoid the rigors and stress that usuallly accompany domain portfolio management, especially if you have tens, hundreds or thousands of domains to handle. And if you are using the scripts to also sell your domains, your domain portfolio will serve as datasource for your markeplace, accessible to the public.

Add One domain at a time

    Re-direct buyers to External MarketPlace:

    External MarketPlace List
With DNHat you can not only setup your own sales platform, list domains for sale, but also send/forward/re-direct buyers from your marketplace to another marketplace for buyers to complete the purchase.

    How it works
Each of the domains (in your portfolio) listed on your marketplace has its unique landing page with a form, which a potential buyer must submit in order to purchase (or bid on) the domain. DNHat offers you the option to re-direct potential buyers from the domain landing page (your marketplace) to a third-party platform for the buyer to complete the purchase process. Buyer will end up on the domain landing page (checkout page) on the third-party platform. You (or users of your platform) can apply this scenario to a single or multiple domains in the portfolio. The software comes with a list of 12 most popular third-party domain marketplaces, and you can always add more.
Extract WHOIS data for the domain after submission? Yes
    No

If Yes, during addition of domain name to your portfolio, DNHat automatically connects to WHOIS remote server to extract vital data about the domain(s): registrar name, DNS, domain registration and expiration dates, domain age, etc. The information is appended to the domain profile before submitting and saving it to the database.
You can connect and update domain(s) WHOIS data at any time.
Domain first letter, Domain extension, Domain name Uppercase, Domain character length are other vital info DNHat automatically computates, append them to the domain before submission.

    Add long list of domains

One of the main benefits of DNHat comes into play when you want to add tens, hundreds or thousands of domain names. If you have a long list of domain names to add to your portfolio/marketplace.

Procedures for adding bulk domain names are similar to that of adding a single name, save for the following exceptions:
    1. Instead of a single domain name, you have multiple domain names (list with unique domain names, one per line);
    2. If the corresponding form fields are not empty, all the domains in the list will share common information such as categories, description, keywords, price, markeplaces etc.

    • Using a Plain Text editor, prepare the list of domains you want to import, one domain per line
    • Click on the menu item "Import Domains (list)" and wait for the form to load
    • Copy and paste the list into the domail list box. One domain name per line. Maximum per operation is 1000 domains. If you have longer amout, then split them per/1000 and repeat the operation
    • Enter the necessary field values. The field values will be used for all the domains
    • Complete the form as you would for adding single domain name (see above). Form fields may be left empty.
    • Click the Submit button

    Special Notes:
For copy-paste domain name list import, import domain names from file(see below) your input fields e.g. Price, Categories, Description etc., if not empty, will be apllied to each of the domains and saved in the database.
It is therefore recommended that you split your domain list into small groups/lists having common or similar characteristics. For example, same categories, similar price range, featured, keywords etc.
If necessary, after submission you may proceed to Active domain list Domains (Active) to edit each domain properties.

Import domain list from Excel (CSV) file

Importing domain list from Excel (CSV) file is similar to adding a long list of domain names to the portfolio/marketplace database, except the domain list is compiled in a table with the form fields represented by columns, while each row of the table holds a domain name and relevant data. The data fields can be empty. The table is then saved as .csv file, ready to be imported. An example of such file can be found here.

Steps to Bulk Domain names from Excel File

    • Prepare the excelsheet data/table and save it as .csv format
    • Each row of the table represents a domain.
    • When saving the file as .csv, you must indicate (use) | as Field delimeter. The delimeter character is called pipe - see picture
    • Enclosure is also a must. Enclosure is a character that specifies the field enclosure character. It should be "
    • The columns in the file you want to import must match the columns of the table on the database server. In all there are 29 columns and only Column3 -Domain name (lower case) - is compulsory. All others can be empty.
    • "leave empty" field - will be automatically generated by the program.
    • "optional" field - you may select or enter the value(s) to be used if the field is empty. For example, in your file you can leave the domain category field empty, and then select from the dropdown list.
Your excel file columns must have ALL the columns and STRICTLY be in this order:
